Poetry in Art

I hope my artwork will inspire you to imagine, explore, discover, experience, value, enjoy, feel...... the peace, tranquility, or energy of rivers, lakes, oceans, the calm, serenity, or power of sunrises and sunsets, the energy and grandeur of aspen forests, the sublime beauty and poetry of flowers.....

Cezanne
This is a quick pencil sketch I did a few summers ago when I visited France. I spent a week in Aix en Provence, the birthplace of Cezanne, attending a creativity workshop, which inspired me to further explore my creative spirit. I began experimenting with all the art mediums and learned to let go of my self critical, perfectionist limitations. It was then that I really began to paint.

PUMPKINS
oil
8x10

Fall is my favorite season, the brilliant autumn colors of leaves and pumpkins. My visit to a pumpkin farm to select several to decorate my front door and courtyard inspired this painting. In November, these pumpkins will make delicious pies and my favorite creamcheese pumpkin roll.
BELL PEPPERS & GREEN CHILE
oil 5x7
Harvest from my father's New Mexico garden. Chile refers to the fruit of the capsicum plant, a single species of peppers that come in red and green colors, in varying degrees of hotness. In most of the rest of the world, such fruit is referred to as chili peppers, but in New Mexico, they are chiles

STILL LIFE ON TILE
After I painted this, it was installed over my cooktop in my kitchen.
